flow of the asperities Explanation: It means the rough spots can deform a bit to smooth out the surface. Plasma (or ion) nitriding produces a very thin hardened and nitrided layer, though it depends on the base material just how thin and hard the layer is. -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 1 hr (2007-02-02 20:39:50 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- Honestly, I can't find much in the way of references to "asperidades" either. I wonder whether this word at least has been "translated" from English - it would be tempting to use "asperidad" for "asperity" wouldn't it? |

Ref. for “fluencia” from EuroDicAutom: fluencia Reference CSIC Definition creep is plastic flow of the material under constant stress. creep : plastic deformation which proceeds slowly and continuously when stress is applied at elevated temperatures Reference 1)Euronorm 22-70 5.22:BS 2094.I-9 (1) TERM creep Reference Euronorm 22-70 5.22:BS 2094.I-9;AFNOR (2) TERM flow Asperidades – (roughness) asperities. flow/smoothing of surface irregularities/protuberances Explanation: Two French refs in Eurodic for 'asperite', 'rough protuberance' and 'corky scab'. It is about a nitrided metal working tool, die, mandrel, etc. The surface has tiny irregularities which smooth out due to the pressure of the working action. The protuberances, although a hard nitride compound, assume the ductility of the substrate metal. http://www.sme.org/cgi-bin/get-press.pl?&&20021587&WN&&SME& |
