I am sure this refers to a health insurance policy - health insurance policies in the USA provide for yearly check-ups for children (as well as adults). On the insurance forms they use the expression well-child to indicate that the appointment is a yearly check-up, versus "sick-child" which refers to a visit to the doctor when the child is sick.
If the child needs a check-up for the purposes of camp registration, which does not coincide with the yearly check-up schedule the insurance companies will not pay for this check-up, and is indicated by another term on the insurance form.

Se denominan well-child en todos los casos, sean las revisiones mensuales de los bebes, o cada 6 meses de los toddlers. Estas son revisiones periodicas dictadas por el American Pediatric Association para asegurar el desarollo de los niños desde que nacen hasta los 18 años. Una vez cumplidos los 18, si el hijo esta estudiando en la universidad aun puede seguir bajo la poliza de sus padres, pero si no - tiene que tener poliza propia.

María, ¿No es cierto que Well-Child" es una organización? No sé si es una organización nacional. Pero aquí hay Well-Child clinics, una organización de enfermeros que proveen servicios de salud a niños a un costo bajo y a veces gratis.
