Japanese term or phrase: 業務外の事務
Anyone have a better translation than "off-the-job affairs"?
This is an answer in the "other" column for descriptions of one's engineering role.

English translation:non-engineering work
Explanation:
業務外 could be 'non-work-related' but to me 業務 suggests 'work' in the sense of '(a particular) business' while 事務 suggests '(office) work' as opposed to more technical work. So seems like the respondent is saying s/he is not an engineer. Not sure though...

not work related matter

Explanation:
Just a suggestion. Could you please provide some context to make it easier to find a more precise expression?

In that case it could be "work not related to engineering" or as Duncan Adam put it "non-engineering work"

Notes to answerer
Asker: It's in a column that asks those being surveyed to decsribe their engineering role. Other answers were things such as Systems Engineer, Environmental Engineer, etc. And then this answer. It doesn't seem to fit.
