Japanese term or phrase: 消防用漏れホース
This is a type of fire hose that I guess leaks, or seeps water across its length (a leaky fire hose at first doesn't sound too smart, but who knows?...)

消防用漏れホース 水流によりホース全体が均一にもれる消防用ホースをいう。

The original Japanese can be found online at:

I have not been able to find any English translation of such a hose. Any suggestions?

Thank you.

agree  KathyT: One use of weeping hoses is as a fire hose where it is desirable to keep the outside of the hose wet to protect the outside of the hose from hot objects such as embers www.freepatentsonline.com/5858148.html
