students under the supervision of a tutor/mentor and interns Explanation: coppo, Según este documento de Chile, los alumnos duales son los que trabajan bajo la supervisión de un guía o tutor y los alumnos en práctica o practicantes son los llamados "interns" en inglés. http://www.cinterfor.org.uy/public/spanish/region/ampro/cint... in·tern also in·terne (ĭn'tûrn') n. dual students and practicum students Explanation: My guess is that "alumnos en practica" here refers to students who are doing some type of internship or practicum as part of their studies. Students not doing an internship or practicum might be referred to simply as "classroom students". Students doing *both* classroom and practicum might then be called "dual students". Suerte. |

co-op students and interns Explanation: “La formación Profesional Dual es una modalidad de educación que integra la enseñanza teórica que se entrega en un establecimiento educacional con el aprendizaje práctico en una empresa.” (See the www.cinterfor.org.uy link mentioned above) In Canada and some US schools this is similar to cooperative education programs whereby students alternate school and work. These students are known as co-op students. Alumnos en práctica are interns as mentioned by Vocabulum. -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 1 hr (2006-11-22 01:37:32 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- "Cooperative Education is the rotation between school and full-time work assignments that relate directly to your engineering, chemistry, or computer science discipline. This program enables students to complement classroom studies with practical experience, technical knowledge, and financial reward."
