valve element stem

Explanation:
Hi
The filling valve contains an element that opens or closes the flow of liquid to the container. The rear part of the element has the shape of a rod and is usually called a stem. Sometimes an "otturatore" is called a "shutter" but I think this is incorrect in your context although your manufacturer may be happier with this term because it is a more typical translation.
Cheers
Derek

agree  Graham Reynolds: Seems a solid, safe answer. In gas reduction systems otturatori are plugs or obturators. Remember you are looking for a term that regulates, reduces but not totally closes flow. My experience is gas, sorry!

-> Thanks Graham - why regulates or reduces? In my experience of hydraulic systems an otturatore opens or closes the passage completely rather than partially. On a filling system the valves feature open/closed type operation.
