responding with insufficient, capitalized assets Explanation: I chose to say "responding" only to preserve the writer´s (or speaker´s) preference. I say "capitalized", because it seems that the assets are being made "capital" in order to respond judicially. And I am using an American English structure for the adjectives and noun phrase. |

paying with insufficient assets Explanation: . -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 21 mins (2006-09-26 15:21:18 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- capital assets. -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 9 hrs (2006-09-27 00:11:38 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- The technical term is Capital assets. There is also fixed assets, current assets and intangible assets. http://www.investorwords.com/697/capital_asset.html capital asset (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Asset) Definition All tangible property which cannot easily be converted into cash and which is usually held for a long period, including real estate, equipment, etc. As to the "paying" use, I chose it because if there is a dispute over sth (in this case, the capital assets), the loser will have to PAY. -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 1 day8 mins (2006-09-27 15:08:10 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- Sorry: the dispute is over liabilities, not the capital assets. |
