English to Japanese translations [PRO]
Bus/Financial - Finance (general)
English term or phrase: stub period
Found in an annual financial report.
On the web,
it has many hits in English pages and Chinese pages, but I couldn't find Japanese.

I guess there must be a specific Japanese,
does any one know?

経過期間

Explanation:
If this term appears side by side with "financial year" or something like that, it means an accounting period that is shorter than a year.

I do not think there is any corresponding Japanese term. People simply say 第XX期 and add a remark that this period is XX months long.

The closest term I can think of is 経過期間 although you cannot use it exactly the same way as "stub period".

An example:
決算期変更の経過期間となる第69 期(平成18 年3 月21 日から平成18 年12 月31 日)は、9 ヶ月+
11 日の決算となる予定です。

Notes to answerer
Asker: I think 経過期間 is right, but in my material it seems 切替期間 may fit better. So I chose it as the best answer. But thank you very much for your help.
