In Australia, a one year course taken after completion of an undergraduate degree is called a "Graduate Diploma." Is there a name for this in Japanese?

This course/qualification doesn't exist in the Japanese University system, so I think you need a slightly more descriptive term, even if it's a little long.

Thanks Kathy. I eventually went with 準修士 because that's what University of Sydney called it, then added a description afterwards to explain.

agree  Yukari Nakamura: Descriptive term is surely required. Also need to accomodate translation acc. to study areas that follows; "Graduate Diploma in Education", for example, is rather 教員資格取得課程修了 to indicate the diploma itself qualifies to teach in Australia.

Explanation:
調べてみると、定訳はなく、そのまま英語で書かれています。下記のサイトでこの様な文がありました：　学士課程での専攻と修士課程との間に(Post) Graduate Certificateや(Post) Graduate Diplomaコースといった、学士課程と専攻が異なる修士課程に進学する学生に向けた修士課程進学準備講座があります。
これを参考に、例えば「修士進学過程修了」と訳しても悪くはないと思います。just a suggestion.
