Swedish term or phrase: Fröken Duktig
A 50-year-old recovering alcoholic is being challenged by his son's girlfriend. She's calling him on what a terrible father he was. He's mad. Called her "lilla Fröken Arg och Duktig Feminist" earlier. Now he asks her:
"Hur gammal är du?" frågar jag utan att ens försöka dölja hatet i min röst.
"Sjutton," svarer hon. "Lika gammal som din son."
Sjutton år och tror sig veta allt, tror sig ha alla svar. Lilla Fröken Duktig. Det är så typiskt.

-> Thanks Kathy, yes you are absolutely right about the caps. was just in a hurry. -- thanks for pointing it out.

agree  Tim Kynerd: Without context I'd say "Miss Goody Two Shoes," but in this context I think "know-it-all" captures the meaning better. I agree with Kathy on the caps as well. :-)

neutral  Michele Fauble: I would agree with this, but I don't like the repetition - "... she thinks she knows it all, has all the answers. Little Miss Know-It-All."

neutral  asptech: not quite the right connotation - "Fröken Duktig" tries to please everybody, but gets taken advantage of in the process.

disagree  Thor Truelson: No. Not how this would be written, although the concept is correct.

a manhater in training, angry young woman

Explanation:
The phrase context here is NOT Fröken Dutig, but rather Fröken Arg och duktig feminist. My first suggestion specifically relates the that phrase, while the second is an allusion to the Angry Young Men who populated British post-war literature.

neutral  Eva-Marie Adams: I don't know that this is what they are trying to say in the text (trying to do what you are supposed to). It seems to me that he is angry because she thinks "she knows it all" even if she is only 17.

disagree  Thor Truelson: No. That's not really what's implied.
