thermal control room Specified for monitoring temperature Explanation: Ordinary control rooms are general, technical ones are related to monitoring the technical services where equipment groups are scheduled to define the technical problems or monitor the technical processes. Some power plants need an around-the-clock monitoring for temperature due to the system used in the plant. -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 36 mins (2006-08-15 07:04:53 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- t is sometimes if not usually related to the plant and the plant's staff safety processes |

thermal control room special room for controlling steam temperature Explanation: The power plant uses steam to generate electrical power. This is based on this ref: http://www.hse.gov.uk/comah/bpgrange/images/bprgrangemouth.p... ...the proposed new Combined Heat and Power plant ... to re-utilise an existing medium pressure steam line... So, steam temperature needs to be controlled in order to be able to generate power of the right voltage. My blind guess is that "controlling" here means more than monitoring, but also including upping steam pressure (by the formula PV = cT, p: pressure, v: volume, c: constant, t: temperature) to increase temperature. |
