Take, for example, the ice cream business. For years, ice cream was a commodity category. The local dairy supplied the grocery store with half-gallon tubs of vanilla, chocolate, and strawberry. (Occassionally, for variety, they would put all three in the same tub!) Along came Ben & Jerry's and Haeagen-Dazs, who put higher quality ice cream in lost of different flavors in small containers, for which they charged a premium.

Uzeti ćemo sladoledarstvo kao primjer. Sladoled je godinama spadao pod kategoriju robnih proizvoda. Lokalne mljekare bi opskrbljivale dućane s pola galona kada vanilije, čokolade i jagode. (Ponekad, zbog raznolikosti, stavili bi sva tri okusa u jednu kadu!) Zatim su se pojavili Ben&Jerry's i Haeagen-Dazs, koji su visokokvalitetni sladoled u različitim okusima stavljali u male spremnike, za koje su naplaćivali naknadu.

Mislim da je ovo samo još jedan primjer labavosti američkog dijalekta engleskog jezika. Doslovce kadica, ali može u stvari nešto mnogo formalnije. Mislim da je riječ bačva neprikladna.
