基本的な質問で恐縮ですが、教えてください。

Starting from 1.9g of A and 5.8g of B gives 4.1 g of product in oil form. とあるのですが、このStaring fromをそのまま「開始する」や「始める」と訳していいのでしょうか？

この形態の文章がいくつもでてきます。

もし「開始する」で訳した場合、「1.9ｇのＡから開始し、５．８ｇのＢで、４．１ｇの油状の生成物を得る。」でいいのでしょうか？

他の同じような文として、
Starting from 0.1g of A, prepared in accordance with exampled 5, and from 0.5g of B gives 0.05 g of product in powder form.
とあります。

これは「実施例５に従って調製した、０．１ｇのＡ及び０．５ｇのＢから開始して、０．０５ｇの生成物を粉状で得る。」　でよろしいのでしょうか？

何か他に適訳がありますか？　意味はわかるのですが、適訳があるのであれば教えていただきたいと思います。

すでにあなたが考え付いていらっしゃるとおり、「1.9ｇのＡから開始し、５．８ｇのＢで、４．１ｇの油状の生成物を得る。」でよいと思います。
ですが多少言葉を変え（あるいはこなれた表現として）、つぎのように書き換えることも出来ると思います。
物質Ａ（それがなんであるか、あなたにはわかっておられるわけですよね）1.9ｇから始めて〔別の物質）Ｂ５．８ｇを加えるとそれは4.1ｇの油状物質になる（として結集する）。
これは１．９ｇのＡｎｉ少しずつＢを加えていって合計５．８ｇになって、その差額がその油状物質として残るようですね。

バケ学は私の守備範囲ではありませんが、starting from という英語表現に焦点をあてながら考えてみました。参考になれば幸いです。

Yoshida さんの答えもよいと思いますが、starting from という動詞句を**開始物質**という名詞に変えてしまうと、もしかして問題が生じることがあるような気がします。

化学反応の場合、基質(substrate）があって、それらを反応させて、産物(生成物：product）が得たれる。　ここでは　AとBという２つの基質を反応させて、油状の生成物を得た。
ただし、一回の反応ではなく、一連の反応(cascadeのような反応）で最終産物を得る場合、最初の反応で使われた基質は開始物質、その反応は開始反応と呼ぶ。
ここのAとBと反応して、Cを得るという単純な反応の場合、単に、「AとBを基質として反応させ、Cを得た。」に訳していいと思います。
