Law/Patents - Law (general) / Law general, Environmental Law
Russian term or phrase:

"norms (standards) spelled out in relevant normative acts whithin the body of law on natural resources exploitation and conservation"

relevant laws [and regulations]
Explanation:
It might be slightly wider than "laws", so you could add "regulations". In fact, you could probably just put "regulations" on their own.

Standards specified in relevant laws [and regulations] on the use and conservation of natural resources

Asker: Я очень сомневаюсь в таком варианте перевода, т.к. слово "rights" означает не право, как общественно-государственный институт, а права (человека и т.д.) как элемент теории государства и права.

Asker: Thanks a lot for the answers! To avoid the long chain of nouns in the end I would just use simply the word "environmental". And in this case my final translation would look like this: "When carrying out environmental impact assessment for different environ-mental components, the norms set out in relevant environmental laws and regula-tions law are used". What do native speakers think?

Asker: Oops I made some mistakes... This is my final translation: "When carrying out environmental impact assessment for different environmental components, the norms set out in relevant environmental laws and regulations are used"

agree  Peter Shortall: Or possibly "set out" for определенные here; "spelled out" and "normative acts" in the предложенный вариант look particularly questionable (as does the chain of nouns at the end!)

-> Thanks Peter. "set out", "laid down" etc. I particularly dislike the word "normative", which nearly always screams "literal translation"! The chain of nouns would have to begin "natural resource" in the singular, but it isn't pleasant!

specific areas of environmental law

Explanation:
I would say "specific" for специальный - it seems a little closer than relevant.

Also I'd use "set forth" rather than "set out" (though this could be an American/British thing, not sure!)

For объект, perhaps area or site might be better? I'm assuming it refers to a physical place nature, correct me if I'm wrong...

I'd also insert an article before "environmental impact assessment."

So you'd have:

When carrying out an environmental impact assessment for different sites, the norms set forth in specific areas of environmental law are used.

Ok, I promise I will have nothing more to say!
