have fun / enjoy (with others)/ cheer (a sports event) Explanation: I think you maybe made a mistake for 中断(cancel) and 中継(broadcast) ? Basically, 盛り上がる just means to 'have some fun', 'raise the roof' or "bring down the house" so to speak - to have some fun and throw off inhibitions, not worry about the consequences so much, to an extent. See the reference to get some ideas of what this word encompasses. Also, here is a really rough first-pass translation of the whole sentence. "This single device enables you to enjoy ABD as it was meant to be, whether you want to watch quietly by yourself or cheer along with others when watching televised sports." throw a party Explanation: みんなで盛り上がるとはみんなで集まってわいわいやることです。するとこうなるはずです。 -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 1 hr (2006-07-25 17:02:19 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- Kurt が指摘したように中断は中継の誤りです。 |
