In realtà si sacrifica un poco il senso del verbo italiano con il "pro"(cumbere) che indica il "davanti", mentre "succumbere" è più un "cadere sotto". Altrimenti bisognerebbe girare in qualche altro modo il verso con notevoli difficoltà per la metrica che già così cambia un po'.
