Thank you Mumtaz. Galling indicates two possible types of damage. One is wear in the form of flakes, which is the subject of this text. The term اهتراء represents the flaky nature of this wear quite well. The term تآكل cannot be used because it is used for corrosion and regular wear. The other type of damage is local welding of parts due to the heating of contact surfaces or of chipped material, which is what Ahmed Shazly indicated.
