there's a few entries in the gloss but I can't figure out which one applies to me.
It is on an invoice template below the invoice number and above the VAT registration, as follows:

DATE AND
TAX POINT

The template is for customers to learn where to apply the UK companie's (publishing solutions) logo onto their invoices.
I have to translate the whole invoice.

Pourcentage de taxe? Lieu de livraison?

Lower down, one can read: VAT rate and VAT amount.

I am at a loss...

Any help as always greatly appreciated.

Explanation:
The 'tax point' is the date at which the tax is considered to be applied; usualyl, it might be the same as the invoice date, but can be different.

I'm not sure if exactly the same concept is used in FR taxation, but I know they use things like 'date d'échéance' and 'date de mise en recouvrement', for example, on tax demands; in this case, it is rather the date at which the VAT situation has been 'arrété'.

This is specific UK terminology

Here's an extract from a Google hit that briefly indicates the meaning:

Guide to Value Added Tax - Chapter 6 -

This Chapter describes the tax point, ie the point in a transaction when VAT becomes due, ... Definition of “passenger motor vehicles” for VAT purposes ...

Other definitions refer to 'date of invoice for tax purposes'

I do not believe the same concept exists in FR (at any rate, I've never seen it on a FR invoice!), but in any case, your specific context is clearly using it to indicate that in this case, the invoice date and the tax point are one and the same --- this is what the expression 'date and tax point' is specifically used to mean; so it is really only necessary to translate 'invoice date'

It is not the date on which the VAT is DUE as such, but simply the date of the transaction assumed for tax purposes (which can affect when the transaction appears in a company's VAT returns) -- remember, VAT is one of these odd 'passed down the line' taxes. Most 'normal' commercial transactions have the tax point and invoice date the same, hence the introduction of this standard expression 'Invoice date & tax point' (which as far as I can recall came in with the advent of VAT)

Well, it's a bit late now, but I must just acknowledge with thanks Sarah's pointing out the error in brackets in my headword answer; of course it should be "...imposition DE LA TVA" --- one of these days, my poor old brain will get the hang of thinking ahead... it certainly wasn't last night!
