Spanish to English translations [Non-PRO]
Education / Pedagogy / School Official in Charge of Academic Records
Spanish term or phrase: secretaria contadora
On a Guatemalan Academic Transcript:

Context" "La infrascrita **Secretaria Contadora** del Instituto Normal...certifica que para el efecto ha tenido a la vista el Expediente de la Senorita..." and then the couses and grades follow.

I'm having a bit of trouble with the whole sentence. How would you translate all of it?

Many thanks in advance for all of your help.

Secretary and Accountant

Explanation:
I think that she she is both an Accountant and a Secratary, otherwise, she would have written "secretaria de contabilidad"

I would translate it like this:

"The undersigned Secretay and Accountant of the Instituto Normal ... certifies that she has had at sight the records of miss ... at her request"

It is just an idea...I hope it helps.

agree  Custom Trans.: That was a good thought, but because she deals with student records, it appears to me that they are refering to student accounts wich could deal with money but the title is still better said as account secretary

accounting clerk

Explanation:
this is the most common job descriptive term for someone who works under an accountant doing the sorts of tasks considered "secretarial." Accounting secretary is another possibility, but it is far less common (the term "secretary" is falling out of favor due to its gendered weight).
