bulkhead Explanation: Not my field either but: 1. GDT (my CD version anyway) gives bulkhead as a possibility for "rideau". 2. "l’évacuateur de crues du barrage" appears to be a "spillway". 3. Web searches appear to imply that a bulkhead is part of a spillway. And spillways are (sometimes, at least) built from concrete and "injection" is a thing you can do to concrete. Hopefully get you heading in the right direction pending an answer from someone who knows what they're talking about :-) -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 6 hrs (2006-03-27 23:13:30 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- This confirms spillway, and appears to suggest "curtain grouting" for "injection de rideau": http://www.ceaa-acee.gc.ca/010/0001/0001/0017/001/1085-FR.pd... |

curtain grouting Explanation: "injection" here refers to injection of grout (a cement slurry) to create an impermable grout curtain (to prevent water from the dam seeping through the foundation). Based on 20 years experience translating for a dam designer. |
