二丁掛タイル Rectangular Tile (Insert Dimensions here) Explanation: Hi Conejo-san, These was asked some time ago. Please see: http://www.proz.com/kudoz/1126857 As mentioned in the description, this tile refers to 2 x 小口 tiles, (which are generally 60x108mm) -hence the 2丁- plus the joint width (hence the 掛け), and the standard dimension for these seems to be 60x227mm. In the case of 45二丁タイル, note that this is generally 45 x 95mm but can also refer to 50x95mm. There was a similar question asked also: see http://www.proz.com/kudoz/1160801 Good luck! -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 3 hrs (2006-02-08 23:02:40 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- Excuse the typo: 'these was' -> 'this was' P.S. I don't know that "2-layer tiles" is appropriate - the only remotely relevant hits I could see for this on Google related to Mahjongg tiles :-) -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 3 hrs (2006-02-08 23:09:15 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- My guess: 45二丁タイル dimensions = 45 x 95mm 45二丁掛けタイル dimensions = 50x95mm (extra 5mm accounting for the joint width between the equivalent of the 2 小口's.) See the refs given at the latter KudoZ question. If it were me, I would probably (try to confirm exact dimensions with the client but otherwise) translate this as: Rectangular Tiles (50x95mm) - and flag it for the client with a note. |
