"Sit on" here being used in the idiomatic sense of "refraining from".

neutral  Yvette Neisser Moreno: While correct, I think "Don't sit on your question" doesn't sound good in English, especially not in a literary context. It seems much more casual/conversational than the original sentence.
1 hr
-> I think that stating it more formally would sound very unnatural (e.g., "Don't refrain from asking your question"; "Don't withhold your question"; "Don't hold back your question". Certainly none of the other choices offered thus far are satisfactory.

Do not remain in doubt.

Explanation:
I think this is an appropriate way to express the idea in English, while maintaining the tone of the original.

disagree  Robert Forstag: I think that such a translation strays too far from the sense of the original "quedarse", which is "to refrain from", "to fail to", etc. and completely fails to capture the double negative implicit in the phrase.
1 hr
-> It is best to translate for the meaning of the whole phrase, not for word-by-word structural equivalence.

Don't hesitate to ask. Don't go on being in doubt about it.

Explanation:
I believe the context here is very informal so I chose "go on being" rather than "continue to be" in doubt.
