"Force majeure" (pakkotilanne) has a different connotation as the obstacle may not be due to nature but to some circumstance such as a strike, illness, etc. The practice of voiding an insurance contract because of an "Act of God" is cleverly rebutted in the Australian movie: "The Man who got even with God" starring Billy Connolly. The owner of a house destroyed by lighting argues that there is no such thing as an "Act of God".

Eikös tämä act of god ole yleensä vain yksi force majeure monen muun joukossa (tulipalo, lakko, viranomaisten toimenpiteet jne jne)? Luonnonmullistus tai luonnonilmiö, sanoisin minä.
