French term or phrase: borie
These are small, round limestone buildings built to shelter shepards in the south of France. They generally have a round roof lacking carpentry. The heavy lauze stones that are used as shingles are cut into shapes which support their own weight. The French can barely agree on what this type of building should be called. The question is, does anyone have a real term in English for it?
