This is my very own brand name for a townie.

But Townie seems to be accepted in Germany.

Im Agrarministerium, letzte Bastion eines zentral gelenkten, hoch subventionierten Staatskapitalismus, hatte man den neuen Chef mit mokantem Lächeln empfangen. Die Bürokraten wussten wohl, dass sie leichtes Spiel haben würden mit dem ahnungslosen townie, der sich sogleich beflissen bemühte, seine urbane Prägung zu überspielen; wann immer sich eine Chance bot, schlüpfte Nick Brown zum Gaudi der Farmer in stets blitzblanke Wellingtons. Seinem Image in ländlichen Kreisen war es nicht gerade förderlich, dass ihn ein Boulevardblatt als homosexuell outete. Bis dahin war Brown nur als umgänglich, doch unnahbar und äußerst verschwiegen bekannt gewesen.
