elected domicile (see below) Explanation: The exact English equivalent escapes me, but it means that, for the purpose of the serving, the claimant has elected to have his domicile of record at the offices of the (process) server. -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 42 mins (2005-12-27 22:58:57 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- Also: http://europa.eu.int/eurodicautom/Controller "Woonplaats kiezen" = "to give an address for service of process", "to have an address for service", or "to specify a particular address for service". -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 44 mins (2005-12-27 23:00:43 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- Same source as above: "gekozen woonplaats" = "address for service" -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 1 hr 2 mins (2005-12-27 23:18:54 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- For terminology: Process serving (SC) http://www.scstatehouse.net/code/t15c009.htm (FL) http://www.megalawserve.com/states/fl.php Erratum, "serving" should read "service (of process)" and "claimant" "plaintiff". |

electing domicile, for this purpose, at my office Explanation: Het betekent gewoon dat de persoon in kwestie vraagt alle stukken en documenten op te sturen naar het kantoor van de deurwaarder of van zijn advocaat of notaris en dus niet naar zijn persoonlijk adres. I tanslate a lot of legal documents and have seen this expression a lot. You may also say choosing domicile |
