(zemākās) instances tiesas, kurai katrai ir sava jurisdikcija: 1)miertiesa; 2)tiesnesis vienpersoniski; 3)tiesnesis un piesēdētāji/tiesneša palīgi un to sauc par lēmuma pieņemšanu koleģiāli, bet tas nenozīmē, ka kādā zemākās instances tiesā piedalās vesela tiesnešu kolēģija. Arī Latvijas zemākās instances tiesās parasti ir tiesnesis un 2 piesēdētāji, t. i., izskata lietas koleģiāli. (Likums par Tiesu varu, 20. pants)S. 1. saiti.
