Explanation:
creo que en esta oración, éste es el sentido de "spin". En el sentido que los periodistas deben ajustarse a la "verdad" de un hecho, en lugar de elucubrar con información que no esta relacionada con él.

One television journalist refers to his (conservative) news program as "The No Spin Zone," suggesting that most (if not all) of the others are (liberal and) biased.

CNN.com - Bill Press: O'Reilly's 'No-Spin Zone' is nothing but ...We live in the Age of Spin. As I document in my new book, Spin This! (Pocket Books), it's not just politicians today who bend the truth to cast things in ...

Excuse me: that's "They have to be..."

This new meaning of "spin" is probably related to the idea of "spinning a tall tale." Nowadays, it means to give just one side of an issue to your audience. It's a term often in the US media.

Anchor and host of the "No Spin Zone," Bill deals with the nation's most important issues in a straightforward and provocative manner.

Journalists should resist slick PR campaigns and "spin" on science-related stories = Los periodístas deberían resistirse [entendiéndose, no dejarse influir] ante campañas de relaciones públicas (muy parciales ["slick"]) y evitar la parcialidad en sus artículos relacionados con las ciencias

Hope this helps :-)
