agree  cinefil: ランダムハウスはイワーノフ、リーダーズ++はイヴァノフです。

agree  mstkwasa: Иванов - I think the stress is on the "a" hence the closest transliteration would be イヴァーノフ, though it used very rarely according to Google.

アイヴァノフ or アイヴァノヴ

Explanation:
I agree with Daisuke-san's explanation above if you are translating the name of a Russian national.

However, if you are translating the name of an English-speaking 'Westerner' of Russian heritage, it is much more likely that they pronounce their name アイヴァノヴ, etc.

I just thought I'd add that as you have posted in the English-Japanese forum. I'm not sure whether that's because the person is a 'Westerner' or just because there is not a big Russian-Japanese forum on ProZ.

Anyway, my 2c worth and HTH ;-)

P.S. ¥"Ivan¥" (pronounced アイヴァン) is a reasonably common boy¥'s name in English speaking countries, where the ¥"I¥" sound is always pronounced ¥"アイ¥".
