a statement which is related to the basis of everything what exists

Explanation:
Ontology (Ancient Greek: onto -- being, existence; logos -- word, a science) is a philosophical science about the being, the existance of everything what exist.

neutral  Richard Benham: The expression "ontological statement" tends to get more to refer to a statement in everyday language about the existence or non-existence of something, e.g. "There are no such things as unicorns."

a statement pertaining to ontology

Explanation:
In philosophy, ontology (from the Greek ïí = being and ëüãïò = word/speech) is the most fundamental branch of metaphysics. It studies being or existence as well as the basic categories thereof --trying to find out what entities and what types of entities exist. Ontology has strong implications for the conceptions of reality.

Examples of ontological questions include:

What is existence?
What are physical objects?
What are the essential, as opposed to merely accidental, attributes of a given object?
What constitutes the Identity of an object?
Can one give an account of what it means to say that a physical object exists?
What are an object's properties or relations and how are they related to the object itself?
Is existence a property?
When does an object go out of existence, as opposed to merely changing?
Why does something exist rather than nothing?

Prominent ontologists:
Aristotle
Martin Heidegger
Edmund Husserl
Gottfried Leibniz
Parmenides
Plato
W. V. Quine
Ludwig Wittgenstein

Quite likely, just a statement that something exists or does not exist.

Explanation:
It is true that ontology is concerned with the "nature of being" or some such gobbledegook, but very often, when philosophers talk about "ontology", they are just referring to a theory as to what exists: e.g., "There is no room for propositions in Quine's ontology" could be more simply phrased as "Quine held that propositions don't exist". (In the end, sets were about the only thing that existed for Quine, but that's another story.) Anyway, in everyday philosophical discussions, if I hear the expression "ontological statement", I assume that it refers to a statement about what exists (or doesn't exist), rather than a statement about ontology.
