I was born and raised on Cape Breton Island, known for its rustic beauty and having more fiddle players per capita than anywhere else in the world. I moved to Vienna in 2007, as I was interested in adding German to my linguistic repertoire (having already been exposed to English, French, and Greek as a child); almost 10 years later, I completed my MA in Conference Interpreting from the University of Vienna, with an A-B-C combination (English, German, French).
After accepting an offer to continue with a PhD in Translation Studies (topic of research: the interrelationship between simultaneous interpreting and English as a Lingua Franca), I have been striving to find a balance between conducting research and acquiring experience as a professional conference interpreter and translator. Although I am new to the world of freelancing, I have managed to acquire very positive and valuable experiences thus far.
Please contact me personally if you wish to see a copy of my CV/resume or would like me to provide you with references. I look forward to hearing from you!
