Does anyone know how to embed WinXP Home in VISTA Home? And, will the hardware peripherals (printer, scanner, etc.) supported by XP also be supported by such embedded WinXP? Would appreciate any support. A healthy, happy and prosperous New Year to fellow-translators.

Can you explain more what do you actually need, that is, what do you mean by embedding here? Is it dual boot, using virtual machine, or something else? | | | Spiros Doikas Local time: 18:45 Member (2002) English to Greek + ...
You can try Parallels software for multiple OSs or you can create a partition, install a different OS and dual boot. If you use google you will find pretty many tutorials on how to do that. | | | gdesai Local time: 21:15 German to English TOPIC STARTER Start VISTA and 'click' on WinXP icon to run WinXP | Dec 30, 2008 |
Hello Miroslav Not a dual boot - an option that is already available to me, rather I imagine a WinXP-icon on VISTA desktop that I can click and can run WinXP. | |

looks like you need virtualization program. you can try the freeware virtual box. i don't see the benefit of installing windows on another windows though. | | | Spiros Doikas Local time: 18:45 Member (2002) English to Greek + ... | Not possible. | Dec 31, 2008 |

No, that would be impossible. Of course, you could run it inside a virtual machine as it's already suggested, but embedding it in the way you want is not possible; at least I never heard of such way. | | | Vista breaks some software | Dec 31, 2008 |

Reportedly, some software will not run on Vista as it does on Windows XP. Maybe that is the purpose of this exercise. Regards, Piotr
