Sorry for writing in English. I hope that some colleagues can help me in a small research where the knowledge of Turkish is essential.

The little company where my son works (they sell/repair sails and sell products for boats/yachts, called “rigging”) is looking for Turkish partners, i.e. for producers of ‘rigging products’ in general and he asked me to help him by finding companies in Turkey which have a good name and high quality products.

Could anybody help me in this research, i don't know, Turkish yellow pages, Chamber of Commerce or any other channel? Many thanks in advance for any suggestions. You can write to my profile in EN or GE.

When the owners will come to Turkey to start relationship, there will be an interpreting job, too!

Here are the steps involved. Feb 8, 2014

1. You can write a letter in English describing the little company where your son works and expressing their desire to partner. As a mechanical engineer, I am not really familiar with this part of the process at all. Maybe your son is.

2. Some of us here at ProZ can help in translating this letter into Turkish. For example, you can divide the letter into paragraphs, and let each person translate one paragraph. That way, the task is divided. The letter should not be a long one,

3. We should come up with some companies producing rigging materials in Turkey. Again, I am not familiar with any companies but a web search should produce some companies. I know there are boat shows in Istanbul and other parts of the world. This may be a perfect opportunity to meet prospective partners in person.

4. Last but not least, you should send this letter of step 2 to the companies indentified in step 3. This can probably done via e-mail only. I do not know if I am missing any steps but this should do it. Good luck!

to Haluk and Atril for their suggestions. I'd like to point out that my son's small company is NOT looking for Turkish producers of boats/yachts (like azuree) or sails. They're looking for producers (not distributors or sellers) of 'rigging products' such as blocks, tackles, shackles, braces, clew-lines, winches, ropes etc. etc.

Since products 'made in Turkey' have sometimes high quality, they'd like to get in touch with companies in this specific sector, and I was posting in proz in the hope that Turkish colleagues could find out if it exists a company in this highly specialised sector (even 1 is enough). Maybe through the Chamber of Commerce/Industry, or yellow pages or other channels.

The web is a wonderful instrument, but if you don't know the language, it can be a problem...

Thanks a lot in advance for...more suggestions
