I've designed a few websites, but am trying not to compute too much , due to lingering tendinitis. So it wouldn't be a good idea for me to try to help with the design or following discussion threads. Plus, my expertise is better off used elsewhere (children's publishing, writing, etc., FR>EN, etc.)
But I want to add my two cents here to agree with Marion's earlier comment about frames: I don't really like them either. They don't cross platforms as well, particularly for older co... I see that this area is nobody's cup of tea, and although I am not a lawyer, I do work on the legal translation field, so I do have some experience on the area... maybe I can even count with my husband's help on legal matters, he is the lawyer on the family.
Anyway, I can keep track of any postings related to legal matters, and summarize the information...

I have volunteered for Secretarial duties. My expertise and experience lies in organizing and DTP with Microsoft Office 2000 software. I was thinking of serving on the board by keeping "minutes" of meetings, contribute my experience in organizing volunteer events and setting up a newsletter.
I am in the process of setting up a database with all the volunteers and their expertise so far offered. I was doing pretty well until Sunday, when Henry sent the Proz newsletter out with a... It is very nice to see that so many able and enthusiastic people have volunteered for the project.
I have volunteered for work on advertising the project, both online and over conventional methods. But, now and in the future, I can work on more urgent tasks for certain periods. I also would be glad to help other members in their tasks if the need arises. And I could do editorial work for the newsletter Francina plans to set up. Just managed to catch up with all the reading after a few days away.
One area that interests me comes from my membership of Lions International, who are currently doing what they can to support organisations working with "street children". One area that interests me comes from my membership of Lions International, who are currently doing what they can to support organisations working with "street children". Doing a little research on this, I came across a US based publisher, called Pangaea: http://www.pangaea.org/default.htm who have created a Worldwide Resource Library for Street Children:

In the UK we have a Consortium for Street Children (CSC), consisting of 37 UK and international organizations dedicated to the welfare and rights of street children and those at risk of taking to street life and supporting projects in Latin America, Asia and Africa and increasingly in parts of Eastern Europe.

What strikes me is the sheer number of organisations working - and collaborating - in different parts of the world. I have seen the debate in this forum about going it alone vs. working with a major charity and my view, based on Lions experience, is that the most important factor is that the people using or distributing the funds at the sharp end have the resources, experience, contacts and accountability to deliver results. In Lions this usually means either local Lions Clubs or specialist charities.
Anyway, it seems to me worth approaching Pangaea; it may be that someone already knows them - or has more experience of dealing with publishers than I do - but, if not, I am very willing to get involved. It may also be that the various street children organisations could be a source of material (as well as our members who are geographically best placed for this exercise) and I shall be happy to investigate. I may also be able to promote any publication through the Lions network (1.4 million Lions members in 193 countries) though I can't yet guarantee that's possible.
I am not at all suggesting that our efforts are limited to this area as opposed to hospitals etc. (although eventually it will probably make sense to focus any financial help on specific selected areas).
Maybe what I am suggesting fits best with Giovanna's team initially.

Hello, everyone, I could help to work on "Bookstructure, content, volume". Also, I am willing to work in a team. But at first I think we should outline a project, and everybody should have a copy of it ar post it on line, so we could have some guidlines to work within.
I could also handle all matters related to Lithuanian language and our country. I am originally from Lithuania, and I have ties there, so could get some help on some matters.

I agree with aurelija25 with regard to an outlined project or some guidelines.
I am willing to work in any team that needs my help but the legal matters one - sorry, Celia. Like Balaban Cerit, "I would be glad to help others in their tasks if the need arises." As I said in other post, I translate, proofread, and edit, among other things. I can write press releases in Portuguese and I will help with ads in Brazil, too.

The process of looking at all the legal and organizational angles and establishing an outline to what is needed is making good progress but takes some time to set up.
We will be posting a more detailed outline of all that has been going on behind the scenes soon.
Meanwhile, please be on the look-out for the upcoming opportunity to specify your talents and/or expertise!

- Please do not change the formatting or structure of this file, i.e. do not add or delete columns or rows. Put your answer(s) only in the respective column and/or row. We plan to convert the data to a database. Changes to the format or structure would make this impossible.

- The teamwork will take place via email lists as well as in a dedicated private forum on ProZ.com
- We have developed basic working guidelines
- We have developed a priority list in order to maintain focus and work efficiently: setting up the teams; legal set-up of HQ (France; additional associations to found in other countries); develop outline of project; find publisher annex partner
- We have developed basic ideas for organigram, project outline, logo etc
And of course: We will keep you informed!
