During the conference, you will be asked to think about the following questions: a) Technology, particularly IT is now at the centre of our workload.
Is technology creating more work for linguists or is it taking work away from them?
Is IT logic used in IT applications compatible with linguistic logic?
Is technology driving prices down and forcing our daily productivity up?
b) CAT tool technology has come a long way over the last few years.

Does it really help with quality?

Do you think that a statistical based machine translation will ever have all the data it will ever need to generate any translation without the input of a translator?
Nowadays, most MT systems combine both RbMT and SbMT. Do you think that in the future there will be no more translators, only post-editors?
And we will try to answer these questions on Sunday
See you all there.
