These pages show what I mean:

https://www.proz.com/kudoz/french_to_dutch/other/6427423-trut_d’office.html

More than half of the URLs I paste into my KudoZ posts are unclickable, even if I paste them in a field that was meant for posting links.

Cheers,
Gerard

They get truncated Nov 20, 2017

The ProZ.com site truncates longer links, you see the ... at the end, but this doesn't usually stop them working. You can check by hovering over them to see the full URL.
HOWEVER, if you try and copy a link from Google (rather than copying an actual search result), THIS link will be truncated in the middle — you will see the ... in the middle, and this does
mess up the link.

If I want to post from Google, I usually click on the Google result to go to the actual page, and the copy and paste the URL from there, and then it will work normally.

Ah, also: if a url does not start with www. ProZ.com seems not to recongize it as a link; but in that case, it's not truncated, and so easy enough to simply copy/paste into your browser adress bar.

Try using http instead of https.

Check this Nov 21, 2017

I tried pasting a link in the "explanation" box and both "reference" boxes and this happened:

Untitled-1

Explanation box: nicely boldfaced and clickable.

1st reference box: I deleted (overwrote) the "http://" that was already in the box, and the link is **NOT** clickable.

2st reference box: I appended the link to the "http://" and the link is clickable, albeit ugly-looking with that "http://https://".

If you swap the content in the 1st and 2nd ref. boxes, the link with "http://" overwritten is still not clickable, and the other is.

Links should be spelled "correctly", even this implies additional work. Nov 21, 2017

Often I copy "difficult" links into Notepad, edit them there and then copy them into a posting. This works.

(1)
In your example
Jeu_de_lev%C3%A9es
should have been posted as
Jeu_de_levées

This improves the readability and will be treated correctly by the ProZ server. %xx codes are html crutches for non-English letters.

(2)
Any url must be surrounded with spaces.
Example: Somebody writes (Please see here: http:\\myL

Thank you, Daniel,

You hit the nail on the head: KudoZ doesn't know how to deal with https links. I have just updated
https://www.proz.com/kudoz/french_to_dutch/other/6427405-faire_le_pli.html
The http link is clickable and the https link isn't.

Cheers,
Gerard
