Hi,

My membership is up for renewal in a few days and I'm only missing about 350 browniez to qualify for the 4000 browniez discount.

I know it is possible to transfer browniez to others when you have so many you don't know what to do with them, so I was wondering if a kind colleague out there might be able to help me out?

Many thanks,

Natasha

Hm... How do I give you... Jan 22, 2010

...just 350 browniz?

I only found the option to give you 4,000.

RING RING! Can some Proz.com staff person or moderator tell us how this can be done? Thanks in advance!

BrowniZ donation only to nonmembers Jan 22, 2010

Hi Natasha,

I would gladly give you the BrowniZ points you need, but it is not possible:

1.7 - Somebody wants to donate me BrowniZ for my renewal, but I can't find the option. [Direct link]

Nobody can donate browniz to you because you are a site member.
Donation of brownies are only for new membership purchases, you can't use it for renewals.
If you wait for your membership to expire, you will not have that option neither. You do can use your BrowniZ to pay your renewal.

So, if you want to use your BrowniZ points, you will have to get 350 more of them using some other ways: contributing to the glossary (10 BrowniZ/term), peer agreement (3 BrowniZ/comment), etc.

Kind regards,
Attila

Hi Attila,

I was hoping the rules might have changed since this post: http://www.proz.com/forum/prozcom_membership/151897-membership:_price_and_paying_with_browniz.html#1273036

350 is so little, yet takes a while to earn and I can't see myself spending that much time on Proz over the next two weeks just to earn a little bit of a discount. It seems counterproductive.

Hopefully Jared will comment

No change in policy but 350 browniz points donation is still possible Jan 22, 2010

Hello all,

Though browniz donation policies have not changed, and the donation of browniz points for a 25% discount in membership purchase is only possible from members to non-members, I would be glad to transfer the 350 browniz Cristina needs to renew her membership provided Tomás or Attila confirm they are OK with this (whoever comes first).

Hope this helps...

Thank you, Lucia,
Please transfer the necessary amount of BrowniZ point from my account to Natasha's if Tomás has not requested for the same yet.
