Vladimir, The answer to your question, in the form I believe you intended to ask it, is 'no'. However, a direct answer to your question would be 'yes' you could have websites with those names, but you would have to own (or have access to) both domain names 'proz.com' & 'user.com'. These are owned and managed by completely different companies and 'user.com' does not offer any hosting services. Anything before the basic name ('proz' or 'user') is called a '... These are owned and managed by completely different companies and 'user.com' does not offer any hosting services. Anything before the basic name ('proz' or 'user') is called a 'subdomain', you can have virtually unlimited numbers of these, such as http://subdomain.websitename.com/ and http://websitename.com/. But this doesn't affect the fact that 'user.com' is off limits. If however, you were using that domain name merely for illustration purposes, then 'yes' you could put exactly the same content under both domain names. You can also do more complicated things like website replication (for disaster recovery), virtual hosting, cloaking, load balancing a Web site across multiple servers... Hope some of that helps. See more I already have webhosting with my own http://baranich.com name (registered at other registar) parked to proz.com hosting. But I'd like to have http://baranich.my.proz.com as well. I tried to get answer from proz.com by regular support ticket, but after few days I closed it since there was no reply. I built a lot of websites and know that timely support is vital for good site operation. Especially with database maintenance. That's why I plan to transfer my baranich.com domain to more professional hosting and leave here baranich.my.proz.com. The problem is how to do that since proz.com webhosting seems to be without support. I'll need SSH etc., but if simplest question wasn't answered I can imagine what's gonna be with SSH. ▲ Collapse | | | Roberto Tokuda Local time: 01:12 Member (2005) Japanese to Spanish + ...
