I apparently corrupted the frontpage extensions by experimenting with a FTP program (Filezilla).
Now my website looks sick, there is no navigation possible between pages (you have to type every single URL).
I tried to uninstall, clean the old files and reinstall the frontpage extensions.
Although it says: "FrontPage extensions are currently: installed", I am unable to publish again using Frontpage (I get the message: "Could not find a web server on "jemo.my.proz.com" on port 80

Try using 'www.jemo.my.proz.com' Sep 25, 2006

Hi Jemo,

I see that your FrontPage is set up to use 'www.jemo.my.proz.com', and not 'jemo.my.proz.com'. Try switching the host name, and see if that works.

Best regards,
Justin

Hi Justin,

If I try to publish using
http://jemo.my.proz.com
or
http://www.jemo.my.proz.com
I get the same answer:

""Unable to open http://jemo.my.proz.com (or http://www.jemo.my.proz.com)
Could not find a web server at 'jemo.my.proz.com' on Port 80

Server error
Possible causes:
1. the webserver may not have frontpage extensions installed
2. the webserver may be temporarily out of service
3. If you are connecting through a proxy server, then the proxy settings are incorrect.
4. An error have occured in the webserver."

When I read the source of my pages that are now on the site I notice that it's slightly different from the original.

for instance on the index.htm page we have now:

"meta name="Microsoft Theme" content="none, default"
meta name="Microsoft Border" content="none, default"

the original had:

"meta name="Microsoft Theme" content="citrus 100, default"
meta name="Microsoft Border" content="tlb, default"

(I erased the alt060 and alt062 to make it readable)

Besides the formatting and the missing navigation every page works, including the feedback page (http://www.jemo.my.proz.com/feedback.htm. )
Any message posted there lands quicklly in my mailbox.

So, the files have been somehow corrupted. Sorry!

The CpanelX indicates that the frontpage extensions are installed (I uninstalled and reinstalled many times, without result).

Is there a way for you to delete my whole website, so I can start from scratch and republish the files?

The only way for me to do that would be to do it with ftp, but I'm afraid to touch files that should be left alone.

Thank you for help

Jemo

disable the anti-virus before publishing Oct 6, 2006

For the record: I found a solution to my problem.

To publish I had to disable the anti-virus program.

It's up again.
Thank you
