When searching for translators in a pair, the 'Red P' (Certified PRO) icon displays for all translators who 1) work in that pair, and 2) are Certified PROs in any of their pairs. One needs to visit profiles to determine in which pair the 'Red P' was awarded, or at least hover his mouse over the icon to wait for the tooltip to display. Many people will probably not do the former and not even know about the latter.

This causes a considerable distortion in my pair, for example. Plenty of translators bidirectional, but there are 82 English-Polish PROs while only 7 in PL-EN. If you look for a Polish-English translator in the directory, you see 89 PROs, judging by the icons. Only 1 in 13 is a PRO in the pair actually searched, though.
The same problem probably exists in a lot of English pairs, considering that pretty much everybody in the industry has at least some knowledge of English and can perhaps translate simple documents. The same may apply to Spanish, Russian or Arabic in some regions.
... On the other hand, there are pairs in which there's not a single Cert. PRO, such as for example Latin pairs (forget more exotic dead languages). But translators who work in those may well be Cert. PROs in a pair composed of two modern languages.
Visitors browsing fast through the list will not notice unless they tick the option to limit their search to Cert. PROs.
