I have a problem with the new Kudoz list... When I click on a question I get the error "Request-URI Too Large". This is obviously caused by the fact that the links to the questions look like this: http://www.proz.com/kudoz/1022374?keyword=%25252525... and the list of "25s" is very long... Changes to the view settings do not make much difference.
It works for me | May 5, 2005 |
I clicked on the link you provided and it worked. If this does not work for you, I suggest you try this: http://www.proz.com/kudoz/1022374 It directs you to the same question.

Changes to the view settings do not make much difference. I'm glad to hear that it is not just me who has problems opening links in the new Kudoz list. The (short) list on the first page works fine, but when I choose to look at the whole list (e.g. by clicking on "See more KudoZ translation questions" or the menu item "Answer questions") nothing happens at all when I click on the terms. For a few days ago I remember this %252525...-string popping up in the status bar (the respective page wouldn't open, either), but now not even that happens - just silence... BTW, all the other links work all right on that page (e.g. asker's name, menu items etc.). I haven't changed anything in my computer setup lately (WinXP Pro, IE 6.0, lots of memory...) It's a pity - right now I cannot help anyone finding terms... Regards from Sweden Antje

I was not referring to this particular question... It describes the problem I have with ALL questions on the "long" list. The links from the main ProZ page and from "My Kudoz" page work fine.

Yesterday the Kudoz links were working just fine for me, but since last night I have not been able to open any of the questions. Sometimes a link showing 25252525252552 at the end comes up, sometimes nothing happens at all. I haven't changed anything to do with my computer either. Any ideas?

I'm using firefox: is the problem due to my browser, or is it a server problem? Apparently with Internet Explorer it works.
Links to KudoZ questions from the home page are OK, but links from the KudoZ index page have this problem. Something is causing the url of each KudoZ question accessed from the index page to terminate in an 'infinite' string of "252525......". I can still reach the questions I want to visit, but only by typing in the proper url manually. ... Something is causing the url of each KudoZ question accessed from the index page to terminate in an 'infinite' string of "252525......". I can still reach the questions I want to visit, but only by typing in the proper url manually. For example, the KudoZ query http://www.proz.com/kudoz/1022852 comes out as http://www.proz.com/kudoz/1022852?keyword=spanish%25 [...] 2Bstring%25 [....] 252Btrimmer%25 [...] 2Bsite%25[...] 25253Aproz.com where each [...] indicates some 2000+ repetitions of "25".

I was unable to reproduce the problem, but I tried something anyway. Has the problem gone away by any chance?
