I've only noticed this since yesterday, and it's a big nuisance.
It hasn\'t escaped my attention | Aug 9, 2015 |
I submitted a support ticket about it about an hour ago. It looks like an escape character having gone wrong. As \' and \" could interfere with the site\'s html, they apparently use so-called escape characters before them, meaning the sign following the escape character should not be interpreted as code but simply displayed. Or maybe that\'s what they used to do, and they made a change to another technique and forgot to remove the escape characters. Or whatever.
Was just about to start a thread about this as well.
I\'ll post the reply from support when I get one. Maybe they\'ve slashed their IT staff or hired a slasher by mistake.

Somebody screwed up big time | Aug 9, 2015 |
I tried to update my profile today and it screwed up all the URLs. I’ve had to remove them all as no images or links would work. Now I’m left with the ugliest profile ever

\"Thanks for bringing this to my attention. I see that the issue has already been referred to the site developers to be processed internally. Development, including adjustments and fixing-ups, may take some time but I promise to notify you here as soon as this has been resolved and tested or as soon as I have any news.\"

Issue corrected | Aug 10, 2015 |
Hello everyone, This issue, which started late on Friday, has now been corrected. Unfortunately, posts since then will continue to display the extraneous backslashes, but new posts will not. These will not be displayed with backslashes: ' "
Thanks for fixing it so quickly. So there should only be a single occurrence of each of the following characters now: \ " ' & (also after editing)
