Seriously: Between 40 and 50 May 11, 2017

I may be the exception, but I have tried hard to learn Japanese and Norwegian, and I had to give up on both. And I was really motivated. I visit my father's family in Norway and always wish I could be part of the conversation; they have to make an effort to speak English with me. And I had a long project that involved several trips to Japan, where it's not that easy to find clear speakers of English.
