Never really thought it was necessary as a freelancer. The time, expense and hassle involved seemed to outweight the benefits from the outset. I did try making one that was supposed to be free of charge and idiot proof, but the site that hosted it went defunct. I do have some bespoke graphics if I ever decide to set one up, but I doubt I'll ever get round to it.

My Proz profile seems to do the job pretty well...

I don't think it would be at all useful for me. I get enough random, pointless messages via ProZ.com without encouraging more.

I'd say that hits the nail on the head.

I am going to update it today or tomorrow at least.

By the way, what's the difference between the options "Yes" and "I used to"?

"Yes" means "Yes and I still have a website",
"I used to" means "Yes, I had a website but I don't any more".

You can find it at www.hestereymers.nl.

I do think it's useful as a way to supply potential clients with additional information about the services I provide - which include copywriting and extensive editing services, as well as translating and proofreading.

Yes, but as an agency. Dec 5, 2016

The idea was to target the local market, but it attracts way more freelancers than clients. New paid ProZ membership not doing too well either, wondering what I'm doing wrong🤔

www.murieltranslations.com

It has gotten me a couple of nice clients. I also use it to post articles I've written (linguistics and translation theory) and a few sample translations.

I sometimes get contacted through the form on my website, but it's almost always from people viewing my profile here first, and then going to my website when they click the link provided.
I suppose that after viewing my proz.com profile, they have a look at my website, and then they contact me from there. If I didn't have any website, they'd likely contact me from here.

But only because I haven't decided to dedicate some time for that, yet.
