As I said before (another repeated poll) I am a widow. Sometimes I do discuss translation-related issues with my children (a lawyer, an architect and a biotechnology translator) if and when I have a problem...
I sometimes used to discuss translation matters with my spouse/partner when I had one. Now, I often discuss them with my son who is also a translator. Most helpful and cheering. We enjoy a good rant.

When my husband, a native speaker of Portuguese, was alive, I consulted him frequently.
We had a grant to translate 18th century Brazilian documents. We would look at those page-long sentences and race to see who found the verb first.
