I know it's hard, but choose THE song that still thrills you even if you've already heard it a thousand times. And explain why (if possible...) G
I do not understand | Oct 24, 2005 |
What is the question? Best song? you mean pop music? Or Italian music? or maybe you like Mongolic monks music? No, no way to decide this, as a global thing, and I hope it will never be the case. In a contest for spanish music the song elected was Mediterraneo (J. M. Serrat) but do you think in England (for example) is the most loved song? No no way Rgds Toledo

Woodstock concert, Jimi Hendrix. No lyrics. A song, though. Best guitar player ever, best concert ever, best improvisation ever. To Toledo. Está claro que es una pregunta imposible de contestar, como bien dices. Siendo así... que sea una corazonada... igual será válida. Saludos.

Very difficult to choose - but, Ravel's 'Cantique de Jean Racine' always sends shivers down my spine.

Pat Benatar's Heartbreaker | Oct 24, 2005 |
Best singer ever, best concert ever, and even though I have listened to it 1000s of times, and at least 20 times live, twice only a few feet away from Pat, it still gets to me everytime! Close second places... Theme from "Love Story", Tchaikovsky's 1st Concerto for piano and orchestra, Helther Skelter by the Beatles, "Me cuesta tanto olvidarte" by Mecano.... So many songs, I guess it depends on your state of mind a lot of times... Cheers! Rufin... Tie between Paul Simon & Chopin | Oct 25, 2005 |
Either Simon & Garfunkel's "Bridge over Troubled Water" or Chopin's 4th Prelude. I seldom get more than halfway through either without crying. Or maybe Randy Newman's theme for "Monk"--"It's a Jungle Out There"! When I'm in an entirely different mood, of course.
A song which I often heard during my greatest adventure | Oct 25, 2005 |

... because I love lots of different styles of music, but when talking about songs that really get to me even though I've heard them numerous times it's a dead race between Led Zeppelin's "Stairway to Heaven" and Springsteens's "Thunder Road".

The Queen... | Oct 25, 2005 |
... but I definetely cannot choose which one is the best. Music taste changes along with your life, and I must admit that lately I'm not listening to "my" music at all. I'm not even listening to music, as I turn the radio on only to have some noise when I'm working or studying...
"Everybody Hurts" by REM followed closely by at least 5 or 6 others but it consistently ranks top for me .....

I have several favourite songs, depending on mood or other stuff. My top five includes: The Blower's Daughter by Demian Rice, Wuthering Heights by Kate Bush, Strategie by Afterhours, Glycerine by Bush but the first is definetely Bohemian Rhapsody by Queen.
