No, sadly, it's not. You would have thought those pesky Swedes would get their Swenglish checked by a native for the literature prize at least.

In Swedish, you say "Nobelpriset i litteratur", not "Nobelpriset för litteratur". Hence the error.

Then again, find me an English speaker who's 100% on top of their prepositions...

My nomination, by the way, would be Matthew Reilly for his in-depth exploration of the human psyche. Although they'll probably give it to some talentless illiterate Swedish loser with nothing to say like Klas Östergren.

Gaiman (boring and overrated as hell) or some poet no one really reads or cares about it.

Good for him/her.

Maybe they finally could give it to Ngũgĩ wa Thiong'o ... Oct 7, 2020

... before he dies. I read "Devil on the Cross" about a billion years ago, but maybe I'll read "Petals of Blood" this year and there is a new novel from this year and a collection of stories from last year.

In reality, though, I think it wil be awarded jointly to Benny Andersson and Björn Ulvaeus. I heard they're still pretty upset about being passed over for Bob Dylan.

I know this is rich coming from me, but haven't I seen the joke in Michael's Andersson/Ulvaeus thing, or have they written other literature, because "sup-p-per troup-p-per, sup-p-per troup-p-per, sup-p-per troup-p-per" and most of the "Wow-wow-wow-wow-Waterloo" lyrics, as only two examples, certainly don't cut it for me.

Music's another thing, but I can see Dylan and a few others as literature candidates too.
