The first pet and home?? | Apr 28, 2011 |
I simply cannot remember the addresses of my parents' somewhat nomadic life, quite apart from pets, before I was three... although there are numerous legends. So you get the address of my grandparents' house, and their cat. We were there for the coronation of Queen Elizabeth, one of my very earliest memories... and I certainly remember Dusty, the tabby cat! I think it has more to do with the arrival of my little brother, but I do remember the house and the occasion. ... to Lady Winifred Dorothy Rufus-Undershore, Winnie to my friends. And while we're on the subject of pulling rank. A recent Guardian article reported that the actress Judi Dench, whose eyesight is not what it was, stepped off the pavement in front of a taxi. The driver leaned out of the window and shouted "Bitch" at her. She drew herself up to her full height and retorted "That's Dame Bitch to you!".

Lady Maria Gabriëlle Mieneke-Mercator Wow, sounds posher than I expected. I think I'll call myself that from now on. Imagine the rates I could ask with a name like that.

Lord Vicente Richard Gos-von Henninger Gos was a dog (covered with a thick layer of healthy fleas that abandoned site after lengthy negotiations) I found astray in a trip to Teruel; it was my first own pet... and it was barking mad (literally). I was born when my father was in the management of brewer Henninger, and lived in a little house inside the grounds of their brewery in Madrid, so I reckon "von Henninger" is acceptable?

Think about whether you need to change any of your online security questions, since you've just given away your answers to some of the more common ones (grandparents' names, first pet's name, street you grew up on...). One can never be too careful nowadays!
