Hello all,

A new site feature through which freelance translators can show and share their workspaces is being created. Would you be interested in sharing yours with the community? All that is needed is a photo of your workspace; a short, optional comment on your setup can also be included.

Why? Dec 9, 2010

I must be missing the point.... is this a helpful exercise - or maybe just for fun?

Did it have the period at the end? (it shouldn't) Dec 9, 2010

Hi Nikita,

Could it be the period was included there at the end of the address? Let me edit that out of my post, and I'll send you a message via your profile now, just in case. Just reply to that. Thanks!

Oh yes,

That is the reason. Stupid me: I haven't noticed that. Sorry.

I will resend my message in a couple of minutes.

Great Dec 9, 2010

My mistake for putting that period in too close to the address. I edited it out to avoid confusion with anyone else.

That didn't get off to a great start... Dec 9, 2010

... but I just wanted to say I think it's a really good idea. If I were the editor of (say) the ATA Chronicle or the ITI Bulletin, I'd be saying "Why didn't I think of that?"

I believe it's a great idea and unlike the initiator of this thread I don't think it's just for fun.

In fact it is a very helpful exercise to share ideas about our work spaces. I don't know about others but I for one spend 8-10 hours at my work station daily. It means I spend there almost half of my life!

That's why it is extremely important to have your workspace well organised, convenient and healthy.

Thanks Jan Dec 10, 2010

Thanks Jan, I pulled the pictures and added them, will check why the links don't seem to be working here.

The feature is ready at

http://www.proz.com/share-your-workspace

Jan's pics are the only ones I have received so far, so it's a short slideshow for the moment! Anyone else want to share?

What a coincidence Dec 10, 2010

After three years of working exclusively from home, I've taken the plunge and will be moving into a shared office : http://www.cityweekend.com.cn/shanghai/articles/sh-ho/inside-spaces/creative-spaces-taking-a-tour-of-the-splitworks-office/ Hopefully it will help create a work/home divide that I'm starting to crave.

Try it now Dec 10, 2010

Hi Jan,

You should be able to view http://www.proz.com/share-your-workspace now. I also fixed the tags in your post (the "img" tag should be in [brackets] rather than < > ).
