In Canterbury May 28, 2010

.. One time, I experienced something similar on a square in Canterbury, Kent. I sat out with friends having coffee when these opera singers came along out of the sudden and started singing La Traviata; was absolutely wonderful, particularly because it was totally unexpected. They were collecting money for charity.

Julian Rachlin as a street musician:

This great musician earned some money and made a violin teacher cry (photo No. 2).
Too bad I wasn't there!

Marvelous! May 28, 2010

Such a phenomenal experience. It's a fantastic way to publicize opera.

Hi Susan,

Thanks for sharing that, I loved it.

Some months ago, a friend sent me this:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ds8ryWd5aFw - the same idea in a different setting.

Will I ever get that lucky when I go to the supermarket?

Thank you for sharing May 30, 2010

When people do not go to theaters and opera anymore, do not read poetry and do not listen to good music, this is the only way to show them how beautiful these things are.

I've heard of theater plays in the metro, of poems in the tram and that is so great! Art is for people and it should never stay closed in books if people forget to open them.

Libiamo negli alti calici. I love it May 31, 2010

My preferred piece of music.
My wedding soundtrack.
I cry and shout and be happy and sad and wanna physically go and run run somewhere when I hear it. To find my love who has gone some years ago.

Thank you Susan.

Bellissimo!
